Wellbeing Champions
Introducing Our Wellbeing Champions
At Norwood Green Junior School, our Wellbeing Champions play a very special role in helping us make sure every child feels happy, safe and included. They are positive role models chosen from across the school and trained to support children during the school day.
Our Wellbeing Champions:
⭐ Promote Kindness and Inclusion
They encourage children to be kind, respectful and supportive of one another. Through their work, they help create a school culture where everyone belongs and feels valued.
⭐ Lead Whole-School Assemblies
Each half-term, the Champions deliver assemblies linked to one of the
Five Areas of Wellbeing. These assemblies teach pupils how to look after themselves and each other, and remind everyone of the importance of kindness, friendship and positive mental health.
⭐ Support Pupils During Playtimes
Some Champions also act as Playground Buddies, helping children make friends, find someone to play with, or talk about small worries.

⭐ Look After Our Wellbeing Walls
Every class has a Wellbeing Wall—a space filled with positive messages, helpful reminders, and strategies to support wellbeing. The Champions help update these walls and make sure they reflect how pupils can stay happy and supported.
⭐ Celebrate Achievements
The Champions help lead our weekly Friday Celebrations, where we come together to share good news, achievements and acts of kindness. This helps the week end on a positive note and reinforces the importance of appreciating one another.
