Norwood Green Junior School are taking part in Beat the Street!

Funded by the London Borough of Hounslow, Beat the Street is designed to inspire people to make small changes, such as walking or cycling to school every day, to improve their health.  Research has shown that physical activity can dramatically improve concentration levels of children in class, and walking, cycling or scooting to school will help reduce the risk of traffic accidents outside our school gates.

Every child will receive a fob and map to play, and bring home a card for parents to register to the school team so they can take part too.  Look out for the Beat Boxes on your way to and from school – you must tap two boxes in under an hour to earn points!

Beat the Street is a fantastic opportunity to bring together our school, getting our children, staff and families excited!  There will be prizes up for grabs and we’d love to see Norwood Green Junior School reach the top of the leaderboard to be crowned winner of the competition.

Please remember to register your parent card by visiting  Our local Engagement Manager for Beat the Street will also be running a registration support morning for parents on Monday 25th September from 8.30-9.30am at the school.

World Car Free Day

As part of Beat the Street, Norwood Green Junior School have signed up to take part in World Car Free Day on Friday 22nd September.  We are encouraging all staff and families to leave their cars at home to have an empty car park and safer school entrance for our children!  Please make every effort to make your way to and from school by walking, cycling or scooting.  If you live too far away to walk, perhaps try parking a little further from the school and walking the rest of the way in – every little helps!

Please select the link below which shows you a video on how to play Beat the Street.
